Throughout American history, the era of technology has progressively reached new heights. Each year many incredible pieces of technology evolve, which ultimately make everything more accessible, quick, and up to date. The use of technology and media has completely affected the way people think, live, and learn. Personally, the effects of technology and media have enhanced my life in several different ways including communication and entertainment.
Communication is absolutely crucial to society. Therefore, because of the advancements in technology, people communicate easier everyday. One piece that I absolutely love is the iPhone. Before the technology boom, most phones could only call and text. However, the invention of the iPhone introduced a whole new way to communicate. Of course, the iPhone can call and text, but it has features that make it unique. The iPhone allows me to explore the Internet, video chat, use maps, and download applications that are very useful. With so many features, the iPhone brings me instant satisfaction in the way I communicate with others. Also, another great way to communicate with others is through Facebook. Facebook allows me to find and connect with friends from college, high school, and all over. It has features that allow people to message, chat, write on walls, and most recently, video chat with friends. Facebook has changed the way we communicate with others and how we find out more about individuals by viewing their pictures, interests, and information. Although technology is a great use of communication, it also is a solid source for entertainment.
A world without entertainment seems bland and uninteresting. However, today, every person can access all types of entertainment due to technology and media. The Internet is always a great source of entertainment, especially, two of my favorites, Hulu and Netflix. The website, Hulu, contains a plethora of current television shows that are accessible to everyone. Also, Netflix is a website which can be found on the television and game consoles, such as Wii and Xbox, that streams movies instantly. Similarly, television advances everyday. Back in the day, only a few channels were available, but now, there are hundreds. There are many different cable carriers, but the one I love is DIRECTV. I can watch all of my favorite shows, along with the news channels and many others.
The use of technology has impacted people all around the world in several ways. Every company is working on something different that is associated with the advancements of technology, which is necessary for future years!
